Trying to get more beans into the children is almost impossible so I thought this chocolate hummus might work. I found a recipe at Don’t waste the Crumbs (https://dontwastethecrumbs.com/chocolate-hummus), but I didn’t have maple syrup, or vanilla essence so I winged it a bit..,
- 1 tin of chickpeas (drained)
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Around half a cup of water
I just put all of the ingredients into our Nutri Bullet and processed until smooth.
It kind of tastes like that cheap chocolate mousse we used to get from the supermarket when we were kids, but with hidden protein and bean goodness!
Eat it on toast, as a dip with breadsticks, or just by the spoonful – enjoy!
